What to bring:

If your has any previous assessment reports, please bring copies to your first appointment.  We usually ask about developmental history, and so bringing a record of your child's early milestones can also be helpful.

Parking

The Little Bookworm is on the corner of Springvale Rd and Caves Grove.  We have parking available at the back of the clinic, which you can access from Caves Grove.

During your first appointment

In your first appointment your therapist will aim to get to know you and your child, and will discuss your concerns. They will generally:

• Take a case history of your child, including their developmental milestones
• Discuss your concerns and goals for therapy
• Begin assessment of your child's current communication skills. This may be through observation within play, or using a published assessment where your child may look at pictures and answer some questions. Choice of assessment during this first session will be based on your child's age, your concerns and how comfortable they are feeling within the appointment.

Payments

We request payment on the day of the appointment please.

We accept EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard
Direct Debit is available for school or childcare visits

Possible Funding options
If your child is eligible for funding through the NDIS or Medicare (referral from your GP) we can process claims for you (NB: Medicare only covers a proportion of your session costs.  There will be an out of pocket cost for each appointment).  If you have private health insurance that covers speech pathology, we can process payments through HICAPS on the spot.
